WHL Projects delivers the external works and infrastructure needed to support safe, efficient warehouse and industrial operations.
From service yards and loading areas to drainage, hardstanding, access routes and security upgrades, we help create practical external spaces designed around vehicle movement, deliveries, storage, staff access and day-to-day site operations.
Our team can coordinate external works as part of a wider warehouse construction or refurbishment project, or deliver targeted upgrades to improve the performance, safety and usability of existing industrial sites.
Our external yard and infrastructure works can include:
- Hardstanding and concrete yard areas
- Drainage and surface water management
- Loading areas and service yards
- Vehicle circulation routes
- Access roads and parking areas
- Fencing, gates and security upgrades
- External lighting and service coordination
- Line marking and traffic management layouts
- Dock, loading bay and delivery-area improvements
- General external repairs and site upgrades
Well-planned external infrastructure helps reduce operational bottlenecks, improve site safety and support smoother movement of vehicles, goods and people.
Safety and Logistics
Industrial and warehouse sites present unique safety risks, including high-level work, heavy plant, vehicle movements and overlapping client operations. WHL Projects establishes segregated access routes, exclusion zones and permit-to-work systems before mobilisation, helping to maintain safe working conditions throughout the programme.
For live operational environments, we carefully plan works around shift patterns, loading schedules, delivery routes and staff access requirements. This helps minimise disruption, maintain operational continuity and ensure works are delivered safely alongside ongoing client activity.
All lifting operations follow LOLER 1998 and are overseen by Appointed Persons and qualified slinger/signallers. Environmental controls address dust, waste segregation and runoff protection, and our approach supports compliance with the Considerate Constructors Scheme and ISO 14001 principles.
